Double Vision?

Hey Everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a little while, I have been so very busy with so many projects!! I am hoping to share some of that stuff with you, but we can discuss that on a later date! On to the news at hand!!

Today we have a challenge over at The Burtonesque Dolls! The other dolls and I have made projects using twin images! Everyone did things a little differently, and I am no exception! I decided to forget about color, forget about different mediums, and well, forget about a project! What I decided to do was to make a drawing that incorporated one of the heart digis from my Strange Skin digi collections! Check it!

I wanted to do something a little strange and just a touch...for lack of a better word.....fetish-ness....is that even a word?! Hahaha! Anyway, I really kinda like the way the girls turned out, and I am kind of thinking of making a set of digis based off of them.  What do you think?!  Here is a closer look at just the girls:

If you like the heart that I used, and you would like to use it yourself, you can go over to www.strangeskin.com and get one of your own! If you haven't been the the Dolls blog to check out all the other girls projects, visit http://theburtonesquedolls.blogspot.com/

I hope you guys enjoyed my take on the whole twin challenge, and I hope you come back again soon to see what kind of trouble I've gotten myself into! Have an awesome day everyone, and Happy Crafting! <3

Celebrating A Little Nightmare Before Halloween!

Hello All!! So hopefully you have been visiting me and the other Burtonesque Dolls to see the new releases from Simply Betty Stamps.  If you haven’t been, what have you been doing instead?! What’s more important than this!? Goodness!! hehe

Today I would like to help welcome to the stamping world Ellanore!!!

Now she doesn’t usually dress up like Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas, but this occasion was special! Along with the release of these stamps, we needed to do a challenge today.  The challenge was to take Ellanore and dress her up like one of Burtons leading ladies.  I chose Sally, cause well, Sally is great!!

I used this really great, super skinny ball point pen and drew in the stitches and patterns all over her.  I also used the pen to draw the Jack in the background.

I colored her in with colored pencils.  I never use colored pencils, but I think that they worked out pretty well for this project!!

Who’s your favorite Burton leading lady? Maybe next time you have a project you need to make, you can Burton-ize it too!

Make sure to check out http://theburtonesquedolls.blogspot.com/ to see all the other Dolls projects, and make sure you go and buy these stamps at Simply Betty Stamps on Friday!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day today and happy crafting!

Belladonna is here!

So, it’s day number two of the Simply Betty Stamps preview for the new Burton Weenies!! You met JackJack yesterday, so now it’s time for you to meet Belladonna! Give her a wave!

For my project I knew I needed to put feathers around her, because her hair reminds me so much of these cool feathers that I have.

I decided to paint her with gouache in shades of magenta and purple. (That’s the same magenta I usually dye my hair! teehee!) I then took a green tin box that has been waiting to be glammed up, and I attached the feathers and Belladonna.

I have been storing these feathers in a boring plastic bag, but thanks to Belladonna, I now have a cool tin box to keep ‘em in!!

I hope that you guys are in love with her, and will come back again tomorrow to see what other weenies we have in store!

Make sure you take a look at all the other Dolls projects at http://theburtonesquedolls.blogspot.com/

Have a great day guys and happy crafting!!

Welcome to the world, Burton Weenies!

Hi everyone! I am excited to tell you all about the new line coming out from Simply Betty Stamps called The Burton Weenie! Myself and the other Burtonesque Dolls will be putting up a new project every day this week to preview Betty’s newest characters. The first character we are introducing you to is JackJack! Say Hello!!

My first project with him is a simple little card that used a close up cropped version of the original image. I painted him in using gouache.

His hair has varying shades of brown and some streaks of purple in there, cause he’s a cool dude! His sweatshirt is painted in blues and purples, and his clippies are red with some Stickles on top.

The rest of the card has Stickles on random parts of the paper to make the bubble design stick out a little more. I wrote the sentiment out by hand, cut out a little red heart, and covered it in Stickles and Glossy Accents.

Who doesn’t love a pretty boy?! Hehehehe If you love JackJack, you will love all the other Burton Weenies too!! Wanna buy ‘em? Well you are in luck, because they will be available on www.simplybettystamps.com on Friday!!

Make sure you go check out http://theburtonesquedolls.blogspot.com/ to see all the projects the other lovely dolls made with JackJack, and definitely come back every day this week to see all the other weenies!

Thanks for checking this out, have an awesome day, and happy crafting!

We will be giving away two free digis to 3 fabulous crafters! How do you win these digis you ask? It’s simple! All you have to do is leave a comment here on my blog! That’s it! How easy was that?! The winners will be chosen at random and will be announced right back here on my blog! Make sure you check back to see if you have won! So two free Strange Skin digis of your choice for leaving one comment, what a great deal! hehehe

Alright, On to the Skull Appreciation Day business!! I decided that I wanted to do something totally different. I love working with all kinds of materials and for this project I chose to work with fabric, yarn, and thread! I also figured it would be great to drive myself completely crazy and make 3 projects instead of one, so here they are!!

First on the list is my 3D crocheted skull necklace! This tiny skull was made using crochet threads in cream, black, and red. I made the little skull first and I didn’t know what to do with him. After a while of wracking my brain I thought it would be a lot of fun to take this little guy and be able to wear him around! The red heart and black ring finish off the necklace and give it a little more pizzazz, don’t you think?! :0) I love throwing hearts and skulls together (who doesn’t?!) The whole necklace is hand made with thread and was a lot of fun to make! I’m thinking of selling them on my Etsy.com store, what do you guys think?

The second project I made was a crocheted oven mitt. I love to cook, and my kitchen could use a little more spooky flair, so that’s when I came up with the idea of making this! I crocheted it out of black yarn and made the skulls and hearts out of thread. It’s nice and soft, and I kind of want to just make another one and use them as giant mittens in the winter! hahaha

Last but not least, I made an apron to go with my faboo oven mitt. I used a sheer and white on white striped fabric to make it, added some satin bias tape and finished it off with another crocheted skull in the corner. Aprons are getting so popular lately that it seemed appropriate! I’m also thinking of selling a different version of this apron on my Etsy.com store. Again, your opinion is important to me, so let me know what’s on your mind!!

I love using skulls on pretty much anything, so I am so happy that I got to participate in this Hop! next on the list to visit is Prissy and her blog can be found here http://prissy-blingthis.blogspot.com/

I hope that you guys are all having fun with this hop! Don’t forget to leave a comment for a chance to win your choice of 2 Strange Skin digis! (Excluding the Zombie Attack!! collection) Check back often to see if you are a winner! Thank you for looking at my projects! Happy Hopping folks!

Here is the list of everyone’s blog that are participating in the hop:
